Abstract

Acute respiratory infection (ARI) is an acute respiratory tract infection that attacks one or more parts of the respiratory tract. ARI in toddlers can be caused by 2 factors, namely intrinsic and extrinsic factors. The data on ARI cases at the Mano Health Center in 2019 was 1338 cases and in 2020 it was 1564 cases. This study aims to determine the factors associated with the incidence of ARI in Mandosawu Village in 2020. This type of research is a quantitative study with a case control study approach. The population in this study were all children under five who were in Mandosawu Village, Poco Ranaka District, East Manggarai Regency, this study was conducted from December to February, while the sample was 106 toddlers with 53 case samples and 53 control samples and the population in this study was 2709 taken by simple random sampling. The results showed that the factors associated with the incidence of ARI were ventilation conditions (p=0.000, OR=4.926; 95% CI: 2.159-11.239), wall type (p=0.000, OR-6.750, 95% CI: 2.854-15.962) , type of floor (p=0.000, OR-8.656; 95% CI: 3.597-20.827), occupancy density (p=0.037, OR=2.425; 95% CI: 1.403-5.390), smoking habits of family members (p=0.000, OR = 4.180; 95% CI: 1.489-9.452), while the factors that have no relationship with the incidence of ARI are the use of cooking fuel (p = 0.066) and the mother's habit of bringing toddlers when cooking (p = 0.69). There is a relationship between the type of ventilation, the type of wall, the type of floor, the density of the dwelling.

Abstract

Many variables, both directly and indirectly impact teenage girls' eating habits and nutritional condition. The goal of this study is to see if there's a link between teenage girls' nutritional awareness, their mothers' education, their parents' roles, and their family's income and their eating habits and nutritional status in SMA Negeri 1 Eban. This study utilized an analytic survey with a cross-sectional research design to evaluate the eating habits and nutritional status of teenage girls in SMA Negeri 1 Eban over a limited period of time. Participants in this study were all young women in grades X and XI, amounting to 262 people. The sample method was used by simple random sampling. The results of the research revealed that there was a significant relationship between nutritional knowledge (p = 0.010) and the nutritional status of adolescent girls. The research also stated that there was no significant relationship between nutritional knowledge (p = 0.887), maternal education (p = 0.746), parental roles (p = 0.745), and family income (p = 0.078) with the consumption patterns of adolescent girls. and there was no significant relationship between mother's education (p = 0.439), the role of parents (p = 0.396), and family income (p = 0.075). For young women, this research is intended to provide an overview of consumption patterns and nutritional status, enable them to change bad eating habits at home and at school, and apply nutritional information in their daily lives.

Abstract

Stunting is a condition of failure to thrive in children under five years old (infants under five years old) due to chronic malnutrition so that the child is too short for his age. This study aims to determine the factors that influence the incidence of stunting in the Lurasik Health Center Work area, North Biboki District, North Central Timor Regency. This type of research is an analytic survey with a case-control study design. The sample of the study was 148 toddlers who were divided into 74 case samples and 74 control samples. The use of data analysis was univariate, bivariate, and multivariate analysis with statistical tests of simple logistic regression and multiple logistic regression. The results of this study indicate that the factor which influences stunting was a history of infectious disease (p= 0.008), energy adequacy level (p= 0.000), protein adequacy level (p = 0.000), history of exclusive breastfeeding (p= 0.000), level of parental income (p= 0.031), while the factor that did not affect the incidence of stunting was level of mother’s work (p= 0.869). The dominant factor which most influence the stunting was the history of gave breastfeeding, the level of energy sufficiency and the level of protein adequacy. It is hoped that with the factors that influence the incidence of stunting in toddlers in the working area of the Lurasik Health Center, it can add information to the public so that stunting prevention is further improved
